Longest Yard Sale

Its that time! When every junker’s heart does double beats and their palms are sweaty. It’s the Longest Yard Sale (690 miles from the bottom of Michigan to the top of Georgia). I don’t know how many vendors are selling on this trail - if you know, let me know!

Sales are set up at in yards, driveways, church parking lots and basements, and empty business lots. I spend two days between the bottom of Michigan and VanWert, Ohio (which is only about 50 miles!) On my list always purchase list: flower frogs, McCoy pottery and green treasures. After that it really is all about what you find.

The find, the hunt, that is the best part. I’ve seen a field of Minions made from propane tanks to the largest, fanciest purple velvet chair. It’s also great when you can park in a spot and walk to all the sales in one area. (Bring lots of cash in small bills, water and hand wipes - you’ll go through all your supplies!)

If you have never been before, you need to at least once go. I’ve made “friendors” at so many stops, and they are great at saving me some green treasures <3. The longest yard sale is always the first full weekend in August.

Maybe I’ll see you in Ohio this Friday or Saturday! I’m coming for you 127 treasures :)
